Steph Coley is a local professional artist who has done demonstrations and workshops with the club for a few years now.

Her knowledge on various media and techniques is amazing and she has produced a number of instructional videos.

This one on abstract art will be particularly useful to those who choose the "abstract" challenge!

There are many more videos on her YouTube channel with more information on her art and teaching on her website here:

Painting Process by Carole Knight
Here are some really useful process pictures of a watercolour created by Buxton artist Carole Knight. Carole has kindly given us these images to share so that you might see the process of the painting and recreate these steps yourself in your own work.

It's really useful to see the different stages of a painting and how it comes together and we hope that these will inspire you! We do hope that Carole will be able to demonstrate for us in person once we are back to meeting up again!

You can see more of Carole's work on her website and the website of her business Gallery In A Shed in Buxton.

Carole would like to hear feedback on these step by step photos, and this can be left here:

If you're taking part in the "Socially Distanced Portrait" challenge, you may want to get some tips from Jonathan Yeo who did this very same activity over lockdown.

The videos are all available on his YouTube channel and on his own website:

Here's a really useful video by landscape photographer Nigel Danson, who is offering advice here on composition in photos and common mistakes.
